Good morning, readers! I hope the weekend went well and that you were able to enjoy the Strawberry Festival (for those that live nearby or able to travel!). I definitely would like to stretch my legs and get out more BUT! I’ve been hearing a buzz about a movie, so this time we are staying in. So, grab a mug or maybe some popcorn, let’s brew about The Electric State!
Now, I seen the trailer for this movie and immediately I thought , this looks amazing and funny. It has a lot of great actors in it and it looked cinematically beautiful, however there was a lot of clap back on the movie. If it wasn’t about how it didn’t follow the story, it was that it would never be as good as Ready Player One.
First, movies are adaptations there’s not enough time to tell the WHOLE story in a matter of a couple of hours. Take Harry Potter for instance, great book and the movie series is one of my favorites I like to settle in the couch to water over and over again, BUT there’s no way to get everything in ( I remember when I was upset about Peeves not being in it.) In the case of The Electric State, it was more that the characters weren’t being portrayed right or it didn’t follow the storyline. All I know is that it looks great and the story is interesting. It follows a girl trying to find her brother, but her brother’s memory is somehow inside a robot!(spoiler alert).

Now, onto the second bit, I own and have watched Ready Player One a million times, it’s one of my favorites. A lot of the gamer skins are near and dear to my heart and it was amazing! I can see why people were comparing these two movies in some ways. Both are action packed and funny, both also, have robots. They also, have similar head gear that they can use to interact virtually. so, I can see why they appear similar on the front, but also the clear message they both share.
The message I take away from it, is that we need to interact with real people. It’s not all bad to be on the internet connecting with others across the world. However we need to remember those around you and the goals you want to accomplish outside of it is just as important if not more so. Did you go see The Electric State, if so what are your thoughts? Do You like Ready Player One more, do you disagree?
Let me know what you think! As Always Keep On Brewin!
