Good evening Readers! I hope May is treating you well. I’ve been feeling that itch to travel to see or do something new. I always feel that way in spring through fall, not sure where it stems from, but I get the urge to explore. However, with an upcoming camping trip, I can’t really make big stretches at the moment. So, staying local I found a store that is HALLOWEEN YEAR ROUND!!! So let’s brew about it!

During one of my doom scrolls, on Facebook, I seen Big E’s store, and realizing how close by it was, I hoped right on over. Only 30 minutes outside of Plant City, Big E’s is nestled off the beaten path. Filled to the brim with high quality monster masks, action figures, and movie props. I was really interested in the Ghostbusters sign when I first seen a glimpse of Big E’s, but as I thought it would be, was sold. There was so much to be seen I felt my head spinning, there even comic books and apparel.

Obviously, I couldn’t buy ALL of things I had seen, but I did grab the original Halloween poster for 5 DOLLARS and a hard cover comic from Universal Monsters, Dracula, written by James Tynion IV and art done by Martin Simmonds. AND OH MY GOD, the cover caught my eye but as soon as I opened the comic, I was blown away by the movement of the panels and the style of the art; I had to have it. I was able to get a video of the inside of the store, which you can find on Facebook, look for Brewfeeds. It is an amazing place, come to find out they do 2 conventions a year and have a point system for free if you sign up, which I did. Here is their website: https://www.bigescollectibles.com

Now, after feasting with my eyes and hands, I definitely needed to grab something to eat. There is a pizza place I pass on my way back home and decided let’s keep the momentum on NEW and go to Esposito’s “Espo” Pizza, a little mom and pop place. It smelled delicious and had beautiful murals of Italy painted on the walls. The pizza by the slice was huge, the garlic knots soaked in a delicious garlic butter, and the price can’t be beat! It was definitely nice after a mini adventure to settle down with a quick bite to eat. I even, got a slice of Tiramisu, which was MASSIVE and mind blowing. It won’t be long before I make this a reoccurring thing for both of these amazing places.

Good morning readers, I hope all is well! I’ve been dying for a new read, it’s been months and I needed to jump into another world! I even took to social media for help, but then, I remember when I went to BAM back in December I had taken photos of books I was interested in reading. Weird I know, but let’s brew about it!

I placed a hold on Libby for two of the books I had taken a picture of which are, Alchemised and The Knight and the Moth, now if you don’t know Libby and just incase you don’t it’s an app that you can use to read or listen to audiobooks if you have a library card. Now, Alchemised, is such a long wait I may end up buying it and quite honestly I loved the cover and the inside of the book so much I’d buy it purely on that.

But I got to read and listen to The Knight and the Moth written by Rachel Gillig. It is about a Diviner named, Six, who lives and works at a cathedral. She and five other Diviners give readings to anyone that comes to the cathedral, but in order to do that, they must, drown. Yes, literally drown to see the visions and give the readings.

It is a beautifully woven, story about 6 gods with 6 objects of power that protect the land from sprites(faeries of all kinds) and their objects when seen in a vision can either be seen as a good omen or a bad one. There are even living gargoyles that live in the cathedral, which I loved the idea immediately, I haven’t heard of living and moving gargoyles since the cartoon back in the day.

Anyways, Six, doesn’t remember the time before she was a Diviner, not even her own birth name.In fact none of the other girls do either, they have been living at the cathedral for almost ten years with their eyes covered in shrouds waiting for the moment that their tenure is up and venture out into the world. It is when the newly knight king comes that catapults the story.

Six, divines for the king and the lives as the diviners are forever changed, one by one the diviners that, Six, felt akin like sisters go missing and with the help of an unruly knight and gargoyle Six, goes on a mission across Traum to find them.

Good morning readers, I hope you are well! Enjoying the cool of the garden patio before the humidity kicks off here in Florida. The seeds I planted a few months ago are starting to sprout and fresh growth is forming on the Crepe Myrtle and both the passion flower vine and butterfly bush survived the multitude of hot and cold snaps; everything is coming back and it’s beautiful! But MOST importantly, I’m excited to share with you another beautiful treasure from Birdmoss, The Painters box, let’s brew about it!

When I opened the Flacon box last month, I was delighted with all the trinkets, poems and crafts to get into, but there was a secret little hint in the form of a paint brush charm, alluding to what has in store for this box. I told myself to try only one box, but the hint of a painter’s box had me curious and now with the next month’s hint in my hands. I think I may stay on for another month and at this point; this might become a predicament. It’s not that I want to stop my box subscription to Birdmoss but I want to explore others as well and share it with you, but I can’t have multiple subscriptions at a time, I’d have to work overtime all the time.

The painter’s box is gorgeous! The inventory list creates a story of a traveling painter and her travels around the seasons of the year. Each piece in the box reflects an object this painter would use or create, such as the ceramic coy fish, it mentions in the list that she uses a coy fish brush rest. I absolutely treasure every one of the items, AND, for someone that loves oil painting whom, goes through the absolute pain in the ass trouble of setting everything up, it’s nice to have a traveling paint set to work with and take wherever you go and pull out when you feel the inspiration arise.

Good morning readers, it’s been a wild ride in April what with incredible movies coming out, Birdmoss boxes, gardening ideas, etc. As the earth turns the seasons change and we as people gotta keep in step and not stay still. However, it”s always nice to revisit a story long since made, kind of like visiting an old friend or family member, that is Practical Magic, let’s brew about it!

I remember watching Practical Magic and enjoying the story of a cursed family of witches, how their lives were constantly under persecution of what they were, witches, and of 2 sisters that broke it with their sisterly love. I really enjoyed how the magic for the most part was mundane, not the Merlin or Harry Potter explosive kind, but practical.

Now, the Owens, women are back and the trailer hints at a new threat bringing the Aunts and Sally Owens daughter in the mix. And OF COURSE, the HOUSE! I think whoever designed the house didn’t realize how many men would go through the pain and aggravation on trying to create that for their wife/girlfriend. I know I wanted a house like that, still do. From the trailer alone, it appears there’s a new man coming into the picture and trouble is a brewing for the Owens family.

Not much can be said as to WHAT it might be. However, the date is Set for September 11th of 2026. I can’t wait to put the lime in the coconut, for this one! But what are your thoughts? Good afternoon readers! Can you believe we are almost wrapping up the month of March?! Spring officially kicked off as of yesterday breathing new life into things that hve been dormant. Not just plants but new beginnings for all, like a trip you may have wanted to take or a business idea you left on the shelf/ project. It’s time to dust things off and activate them. I’m beginning a new adventure into a subscription box called Birdmoss, let’s brew about it!

Now, I’ve done QUITE a few box subscriptions, Mindful Souls, AphroZodiac, Tamed Wild to name a few, but while scrolling and doing engagement on Facebook I came across Birdmoss and had to check them out. I never heard of them before and loved how rustic their merchandise was.

So, I took the leap as this month’s box is the March Falcon box. Also, since it was my first purchase they had a limited time Welcome kit as well and it jut arrived today!!! The Welcome kit, was definitely welcoming! Trinkets with a touch of whimsy, poems and a craft to put together, honeycomb wax and wick to make candles.

Now, if you’re intrigued by the kit the BOX, is too die for! More handcrafted whatnots such as a peregrine pin made of wood and painted by hand, a grotesque, and more! This box too, held 2 crafts to not only give you something to do, but force you out of your daily ho-hum to adventure out in the the world.

YES, is it nice to get unknown surprises in the mail? OF COURSE! But what really set it off for me was that there are things to put together, such as a air-dry clay to press an impression in, which means, taking your butt outside! I think that Birdmoss gives a soft nudge to redirect our minds to calm it whether because work or life gets in the way. Maybe even an artist block and need another project to channel your energy before going back to where you left off.

All and all I’m very happy with my purchase, and I love the poems and articulate inventory list in the Falcon Box, extremely detailed oriented even, the box itself before you even open it has flare. Good evening readers, I hope your day went well. I’m excited to see what April brings this year, and this evening I’m grabbing the lickies and chewies. I enjoyed the first movie and here’s hoping the sequel lives up to the standards set before it, let’s brew about it!

Back in February, when I went to see Scream 7 it had a bunch of movies rolling out for 2026, Scary Movie, Passenger, The Mummy, Undertone, AND Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come! It’s been a few years since the original was released and it ended with our protagonist not getting sacrificed by a bunch of Satanists and a nod of approval from the legendary Mr. Le Bail’s spirit. So imagine my surprise, that they were coming out with a new one!! AND Elijah Wood plays a role, which isn’t an uncommon thing for him as he tends to pick interesting roles.

The story starts where it left off, Grace, sitting outside the Le Domas mansion burning down, and off to the hospital she goes. What Grace doesn’t know, that because she survived until dawn it has triggered ANOTHER deadly game. Because the Le Domas held the high seat in the Council of Satanists, the game isn’t over until someone takes the high seat!

Unbeknownst to Grace, she has set off a cacophony of events, and has literally no idea, other than she just woke up handcuffed to a hospital bed and her long sister glaring at her. The many different cultists characters are not only diabolical but hilarious, slapstick humor, and creative ways the fight scenes are just out there.

Good morning readers!!! We’ve made it to April, time of rebirth in all things, plants are growing, animals and humans are being born, new ideas are forming and new paths are being imagined or created. All of over social media, different, places to explores, things to try and things to do have gone into overdrive, let’s brew about it!

I just so happened to be at the doctor office the other day, and I’m not one for being patient, so I began doom scrolling while I waited, BIG MISTAKE. I ended up saving and liking a lot of videos with D.I.Y videos, or food ideas. But a couple of them stuck out to me, and I got a backyard that’s like a blank canvas so much potential, just needs some paint to be executed so to speak.

I’ve drawn up so many different ideas, but the two that stuck out to me was the concept of growing things upwards. I like these ideas because it doesn’t take as much space away from the backyard and also, creates focal points to look at when relaxing in the patio or back yard its self. One idea was to create a raised garden bed with canopy using wire fencing or chicken wire for plants to grow up and around. I found this idea from The Purposeful You on Facebook, if you want to see more of their ideas.

Not only does, does the canopy create an easier way to collect what you grow but also, some refuge from the heat and sun during the day. A sort, of secret place to get away and watch the world around you. I blame Secret Garden from the 90s I’ve always wanted a secret place to hide and enjoy the beauty of the plants around me; it brings me peace and a place to ruminate and be creative.

Other idea, is very similar but the structure appears simple, a teepee structured with bamboo stakes. I say “appears,” because ONE I never tried to make a teepee and to it needs to be stable. But the whole idea is to create a way for a vine-like plant to grow up the stakes creating shade and a unique space. This one I found on DIY & Crafts on Facebook as well.

Good evening fellow readers! I hope everyone has enjoyed March, it’s hard to get into the spring spirit what with the weather flipping and flopping from freezing to hot, but this shall pass, right? We will all be able to enjoy a beautiful spring and summer here soon. BUT I’m not here to talk about the weather, I’m here to talk about Undertone, many people raved about it being the #1 horror movie for 2026, so let’s brew about it!

I had wanted to watch the movie when it first came out February 13th, because I mean what better way to spend a Friday the 13th then, to go see a scary movie!!! However, life got in the way and I had to wait until now. I’ve been super excited since I seen the trailers, I mean I always wanted to do a true crime or paranormal podcast myself, so I was vicariously living through these trailers UNTIL I saw the movie.

Now, it definitely had me jumping, it follows the main character, Evy, who’s living with her mother, who is in hospice care, she’s on her way out so, what does a grown child do? Take care of their dying parent which is a hard task to undertake emotionally, but a meaningful one, I know I would want to do that for my own parents. Either way, Evy is a co-podcaster with her partner in crime Justin and their next podcast is about 10 mp4 files they received from an unknown sender. AS the movie progress, things start to occur at Evy’s mom’s house that go from strange to scary as her and Justin delve deeper and deeper into the files.

This is where MY disappoint occurs, they DON’T do their research, they find out the names of the people on the recordings, they email the sender which comes back as a “return to sender” in other words its an email that they can’t get a response from, but why not trace the IP address? If, strange and spooky things are happening why not put a pause on the production of this particular podcast? Put it on the shelf, until you no more? The recordings of the woman on the file, Jessa, she’s saying things backwards, why not research it more cautiously instead of driving 100 miles an hour without looking where you are going?

But I digress, I believe that’s what the direction was meant to be for the movie, and wraps it up quickly without knowing what happens to Justin and no one sees what happens To Evy and her mother, because it’s off screen. It left me me wound up but nowhere to go from there. I KNOW 99.9% of horror movies don’t end well, but I think they could have taken it into a different direction. Maybe, it’s because I want to do a podcast that’s why I’m so salty?

I feel like the ending was very lackluster to be honest, sped up and wrapped because they didn’t know where to go from there. But what do you think? Have you seen Undertone? Did it give you a pause on the idea or do you think they could have delved deeper before everything spun out of control?

Good evening readers, I hope all is well! Can’t believe that next month it will be Easter. I had intended to write about the goodies I got from Birdmoss but I wanted to wait until both the welcome kit and the March box were both in my possession. So, I wanted to talk about a movie that I watched this week, and I fell in love with it, let’s brew about it!

The Beatles are timeless, their music transcending through time creating love and prosperity. I always enjoyed their music. I recently, watched Yesterday, which I get it, it is not a recent film, but I don’t know how I missed this. So, the story is about a struggling musician Jack Malik and his best friend Lily James whom also, happens to be his band manager. Jack is on the edge of quitting until, he’s hit by a bus.

For 12 seconds across the earth all the lights go out as Jack is suspended in air and by the time he lands everything comes back on. When Jack awakes he finds out The Beatles, don’t exist. How, do they NOT exist? Was it in those 12 seconds their whole career/ era disappeared? Did they cease to exist? My head was spinning, maybe not as much as Jack’s as he’s completely dumbfounded NO ONE knows what he’s talking about and think that he’s lost it.

So, where does our hero go from here? He plays The Beatles at his gigs and becomes a smash hit, is what he does and The Beatles phenomenon rises again via Jack, whom, is caught up in the storm he has created. While everyone that meets him say he’s a musical genius he’s struggling with the knowledge that HE didn’t create the songs and while his world is turned upside down and torn from his friends, Jack has to find and make his peace with this knowledge.

I don’t want to talk about the end because I want YOU to see it. It’s a fantastic movie filled with laughter, pain and hard decisions. Oh, and it’s not just The Beatles that have been wiped from existence, and it’s hilarious to watch Jack search the internet when something doesn’t exist. But what do you think? I’d love to see what your thoughts are.

Good evening readers, I hope your week treated you well. I had planned on writing about Undertone but I had to pivot due to unforeseen circumstances. I feel like Undertone is going to be just the tip of the iceberg in the horror movie genre, the reviews are insane. However, over the weekend I ended up playing Dungeons and Dragons aka D & D, let’s brew about it.

I never played D & D before but have always been fascinated by it. OBVIOUSLY I love stories, especially fantasy and adventure, but I’ve always been daunted by the LENGTH of the game play. I know that a game can last for months if not years. So, you can see my reluctance especially since trying to match schedules with others.

BUT the Stranger Things campaign is just the starter to open up a new world. The game doesn’t take long in fact it CAN be done in night if you have a whole afternoon available. The whole design is just amazingggg, so much detail, even for the character sheets have so much going on. I have to say my favorite part is that Eddie is a part of the design.

But have you ever played D& D before? Would you want to play/ If you havent I feel that the Stranger Things D & D would be a gateway to the thrilling world of D & D.
