Good morning readers! I wanted to take a moment from going to things to doing a good read for the summer. Currently I’m still chowing down on The Shining, halfway through and it’s hard to put down! The suspense and the slow unravel of the Torrance family’s glue is maddening BUT that’s a story for another day. I’m here to talk about Fantasma, let’s brew about it!
I’ve been reading horror slash sexy stories for years. In fact it seems there is a rise what is called Book Tok Girls with the more intense reads. Which I find all of these videos and memes hilarious, where we here the audio book of something racey that spouses or moms are listening too. It’s been going on for years but now with the full on access to social media it has become more popular and known.
I decided to read Fantasma, takes place in New Orleans where two sisters have recently lost their mother and possibly their home! Unbeknownst to the eldest sister, how could their home be taken from them since the house has been in the family for centuries?! BUT there is a dangerous game Ophelia Grimm could play that could save their family home that centers around the different circles of Hell that includes fighting and outwitting demons, ghosts and the like. However, a twist her SISTER has gone to save their house and now the tables have turned and Ophelia, instead of saving their house is out to save her sister! The book is filled with magic, suspense and you guessed it hot and steamy scenes. It had me peering around to make sure no one was too close to me to peer into WHAT i was reading.
But it was a great read that I gobbled up in two days (I didn’t have any responsibilities which was GLORIOUS) Have you read this book before? If you have what do you think? If you haven’t I suggest checking out your local library or Amazon.
