Heartless Hunter And Rebel Witch: A Dilogy

Good evening readers!!! I hope you’re warm and cozy as we are on the EVE of Christmas Eve, and I’m still feeling like a bag of dicks to be honest. BUT feeling like crap has given me the downtime to read, and since it was a two parter series I was able to devour them quickly, let’s brew about it!

I love a good witch book, and this one was interesting, Heartless Hunter is a story following two characters, Rune Winters (the witch), and Gideon Sharpe (the witch hunter). Witches are being hunted down and executed due to the last witches who had ruled were cruel and unjust. Rune has made it her life long mission to save witches and getting them safely off the island. While Gideon was the one who started the revolution against the evil queen witches just can’t seem to shake loose that may just maybe, not ALL witches are bad. As these two characters collide a budding romance sparks while outside forces brew to tare them apart, an undead witch queen who’s blood thirsty for revenge.

Rebel Witch continues after the end of Heartless Hunter with Rune working with the evil witch Queen, Cressida, who wants to raise an army of witches to over throw the rulers of their island home. However, Rune loathes Cressida, on how she treated Gideon and wants to get away, however Gideon is hot on Rune’s trail wanting to seek vengeance and to clear his name for being a “witch sympathizer.” The duo’s paths collide and yet again, they have to work with one another for their own gains only to realize that maybe loving one another isn’t so terrible.

I feel like the dilogy/ duology is well paced and creative, I love the idea that the witches have to cut themselves to use blood for their magic and that the scars become decorative tattoos. The strain of both the human and witch sides is really well written. I’d give it a 3 out of 5 coffee brews for a good read.

Welcome To Derry Ends Or Does It?

Good evening, readers! I’ve been MIA for a week, I’ve been under the weather and still working. Weak sauce excuse, I know but I didn’t want to drag myself into writing something half-assed and served cold to you. But I hope everyone is feeling better than me, and are warm and cozy during what I believe is the FASTEST month of the year. I never felt this way before until this year. However, Welcome To Derry comes to a close, as Stranger Things last season rev’s up, let’s brew about it!

Now one of my favorite character’s, Rich (SPOILER ALERT) gets merc’d, I LOVED Rich, he was funny, he was sweet and he kept the “band” together when everyone began losing their minds. Hallorann’s mental state was hemorrhaging, it seemed everyone from the group of kids to the adults were falling a part due to Pennywise’s influence. The closer everyone got to It the more it turned any and everyone against each other.

The story telling was ravenous, although CGI got a bit rough here and there, unless you’re looking for it you won’t necessarily catch it. But the build up was intense, I mean I don’t know about you what with the military involved I knew right from jump street they’d want to mechanize, Pennywise Towards the end, I practically hissed when they melted one of the meteorite shards, don’t mess with medicine you don’t understand. If you don’t know how to contain it immediately but and only know that it causes death and mayhem it’s not a good mix.

All in all it was a great show, and leaving it on a cliffhanger, saying this was Chapter One, feels like they left room for aq second season, if the ratings do well. What are you thoughts? Did you like Welcome To Derry? Do you feel they should have gone in a different direction? Was the show a little too gory or did you feel thaty had the right amount?

Plant City Christmas Parade!

Good evening readers! It has not only been a day but a week. It has flown so fast, I can’t remember any day specifically. Other than I know I ate, I slept some and I definitely worked, my day job and quite a bit on BrewFeeds Social media on facebook. But I capped the work week off with a Christmas Parade here in town, Let’s brew about it!

The Plant City parade has been going on for 60 years! Which isn’t as long as the Strawberry Festival that’s held in Plant City but it was BEAUTIFUL in more ways than one. Historic downtown was decorated, the shop windows decked out. Lights and decorations, it felt like a Hallmark movie minus the no snow! In fact, it was warm but thankfully, it wasn’t humid tonight, which is a blessing.

The Jaycee’s whom, is the Junior Chamber of Commerce, started the parade but is now handled by 10 committee members, a panel that represents the local Plant City Police Department, and a few other panels as well. The Police Department bit made sense to me now after research, as there were motorcycle cops circling a green sports car in which case when they “drove” away the Grinch snuck out of the vehicle to mingle with the parade audience before racing back to his car to drive off. It was a very cute skit that the crowd adored. Beads and candy were tossed as well and more familiar Christmas characters flitted by, either by foot or float.

What I think made it the most magical though was watching the community come together and celebrate with one another with open hearts and joy, wishing one another Merry Christmas and Happy New year. Just the over all out pour of encouragement, love and excitement made it remarkable. Seeing a community get together with nothing but love, just fills my cup that I didn’t realize was a bit empty after this work week.

Though this week pushed me, I’ve learned a lot about engagement and lifting one another up because a community can make you shine bright working with and for one another can make dreams become goals and goals into fruition, which I will speak in more detail soon. For now, I will say this parade definitely gave reboot and I accept the challenges to come to bring this website into the light.
